This year ThriveWell Cancer Foundation honored retired and active military personnel at their annual luncheon on Friday, April 12, at The Mays Family Center at the Witte Museum in San Antonio, Texas. ThriveWell’s mission, programs and stories of local military service members and veterans who have directly benefitted from ThriveWell’s assistance were highlighted.

The program featured Heather Hancock, MD, Major, United States Air Force, Trauma Surgeon who is a cancer survivor and ThriveWell Diva with over 20 years of active duty experience in the United States Air Force. She specializes in Trauma surgery and also sees breast cancer patients as part of her work at San Antonio Military Medical Center.

ThriveWell supporter and sponsor, Gregg Popovich, Head Coach and President of the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association was in attendance, in addition to many leading community members, clinicians, cancer survivors and San Antonio business leaders. Coach Popovich surprised the crowd with a $100,000 matching gift to support ThriveWell’s programs! Thank you coach!!

Currently ThriveWell is providing assistance to more than 800 cancer patients each year.
