A vibrant wave of pink fanned out over the grounds of the Alamo Beer Company in San Antonio on October 26th, 2024 as hundreds of cyclists, adorned in their brightest pink attire, gathered to support breast cancer awareness and raise funds for cancer patients. Some riders added a touch of whimsy to their attire with pink tutus, pink hats and more creating a truly unforgettable sight. It was lively atmosphere where cyclists shared stories, enjoyed the vendor booths, and celebrated being together. Riders of all levels, both men and women, came together, united in their desire to empower patients to THRIVE.

Highlights from the day:

• A blessing at San Fernando Cathedral
• Emcee Katrina Webber, Reporter, KSAT 12 San Antonio
• An inspiring speech from survivor, Roxanne Toscano
• Alex Longoria getting his haircut from participants for a $10 donation to ThriveWell!
• A fun and exciting raffle
• And of course, a beautiful ride through San Antonio

Whether it was the fun-filled 10-12 mile social ride or the more challenging 25-mile route for experienced riders, every pedal  counted towards making a difference. Along the ride there was a blessing outside the historic San Fernando Cathedral.

Thank You to Those Who Made it Possible

A heartfelt thank you to Anita Crank-Hines, who led the dedicated Pedaling in Pink Committee, including Black Girls Do Bike, #210 Cycle Riderz, Team Taco Cycling, and Major Taylor Cycling, for their tireless efforts in organizing this incredible event. We also extend our gratitude to Emcee and KSAT Reporter Katrina Webber for giving her time and voice to the cause.

Of course, none of this could have been achieved without the incredible riders and survivors who made the event so special. We thank every single participant.  A special thank you goes to survivor and Diva Roxanne Toscano who shared her cancer journey and inspired us all. Finally, we extend our deepest appreciation to the dedicated volunteers and bike groups who gave their time and energy to ensure a smooth and successful event. Stay tuned for next year’s date! P.S.
