A New Chapter of Hope
My name is Iris De La Rosa, and at the age of 70, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was not something I ever imagined facing at this stage of life, but when it came, I chose to meet it with courage. After surgery and radiation, I now continue my treatment—one step at a time—with hope in my heart.
Cancer has taught me to treasure life and never take a single day for granted. The aftereffects of treatment often left me feeling fragile and melancholy, but I soon discovered the antidote: the incredible community at Thrive Cancer Foundation, San Antonio.
Finding Strength and Sisterhood in the ThriveWell Community
Through ThriveWell’s Diva and Dude Program, I’ve learned not only the importance of caring for my health but also the power of connection with the sisterhood I am now proud to call my own.
I am also honored to be a part of the ThriveWell Diva Program, an initiative that has given me incredible support and a powerful sense of community. This program, like the entire foundation, has helped me realize I hadn’t always placed my well-being first—but ThriveWell has shown me that it’s never too late to begin again.
I may not make it to every class, but I show up as best I can. I keep learning, I keep moving, and I keep believing.
New Beginnings
I am deeply grateful for the strength, wisdom, and sisterhood I’ve found. And I want others to know: no matter your age, no matter your diagnosis—there is always hope, healing, and the chance for new beginnings.
