October, 2025 at ThriveWell Cancer Foundation was nothing short of extraordinary. What began as a month of awareness grew into a powerful movement of generosity, kindness and community action. Together, we saw San Antonio rally around cancer thrivers in a way that truly embodied our mission: Conquering Cancer in Every Color.
From early morning races to elegant evenings of celebration, every October event carried heart. Through Paint the Parkway Pink, Pedaling in Pink, Pink Party, Iron Strong Golf Tournament, Bras for a Cause, the Healing Hearts Telethon, and our many partner pop up events, our community showed up, stood tall, and made an impact. Behind every moment were volunteers, committee members, students, sponsors, first responders, and everyday neighbors who gave their time, talent, and energy without seeking recognition. They are the unsung heroes of our mission, quietly moving mountains so patients can keep fighting.
Each event looked different, but the message stayed the same: no one fights alone. That message was felt in the cheers at the 5K start line, in the conversations shared across dinner tables, and in countless acts of kindness happening behind the scenes. For many patients, these events didn’t just raise funds they raised spirits.
The momentum built in October does not end here. It carries us forward into treatment rooms, research labs, the holiday season, and the new year ahead. Thanks to the San Antonio community ThriveWell can continue offering free exercise programs, access to nutrition and wellness support, transportation to treatment, lodging during care, and financial assistance when it is needed most.
As we look back, one phrase keeps echoing through our halls: What a month of WOW. WOW for the heart behind every effort. WOW for the power of partnership. WOW for the strength of this community. Pink may be the color of the month, but hope is the color of ThriveWell all year long.
