I’m looking forward to celebrating my 78th birthday in June and my 9-year survival after a single lung transplant. I enjoy chess, sports and spending time with my family.

With excellent medical care and regular skin checkups, I’m planning on many more birthdays. I have also had skin cancer and Mohs surgeries—a precise, layer-by-layer procedure used to remove skin cancer while sparing healthy tissue. After my cancer diagnosis I became a member of the ThriveWell Dudes and it has been a great support in my recovery.
Dude provides free community wellness programs including exercise, nutrition and artful healing programs for cancer patients and survivors. My personal trainer, Aaron, generously provided by the ThriveWell Cancer Foundation, keeps me strong,
encourages self-care, and is the best cheerleader. He helps me reach my best physical potential to maintain my independence.
Thank you ThriveWell!
