ThriveWell Cancer Foundation in San Antonio, Texas was founded in 2007 offering three different but equally important programs to those battling cancer in San Antonio and the surrounding areas:

Our Patient Assistance Program is focused on enabling cancer patients to comply with their prescribed treatment plan by providing transportation, financial and lodging assistance to those in need. Our goal is to give patients the best possible chance of beating the disease while eliminating the added stressors that go hand-in-hand with cancer. Through the end of 2023, ThriveWell provided more than $11,500,000 to patients, paying for their treatment costs, transportation and lodging since the inception of the program.

ThriveWell also provides free exercise, nutrition and wellness classes to cancer patients and survivors through our Diva&Dude Program. Diva&Dude was developed because research shows that cancer patients who follow diet and exercise guidelines can significantly reduce their chance of recurrence. Across San Antonio, Diva&Dude has multiple locations offering a variety of exercise classes each week along with weekly nutrition and wellness classes. Since the beginning of the pandemic and through the end of 2022, we’ve offered both virtual and in-person classes, offering our participants a way to stay connected and maintain their health during these uncertain times.

Lastly, the promise of curing cancer depends upon advances in science through clinical trials, particularly focusing on individually designed cancer treatments. ThriveWell’s Research Program has funded cutting-edge projects happening right here in our community and has provided more than $850,000 to 39 research projects covering prostate, liver, bladder, ovarian, breast, brain, lung and other cancers.
