The following heartfelt letter was recently sent into the ThriveWell Cancer Foundation office:
Dear ThriveWell Cancer Foundation,
My name is Jose Morales. I am a husband, father, grandfather, and veteran. In 2023, I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. Since then, my wife, Esther, and I have faced treatments, procedures, scans, doctor visits, and many moments of uncertainty.
My treatment journey has included receiving a hepatic arterial infusion pump to treat cancer that had spread to my liver. Although we have experienced some encouraging moments along the way, my cancer journey continues, along with my need for ongoing medical care.
One challenge people may not always consider is transportation. My wife is also dealing with complications from knee surgery, which has made driving more difficult for her. Because of this, having dependable transportation to my medical appointments has become especially important for our family. The cost of traveling for care can also create additional financial pressure during an already difficult time.
The transportation assistance being provided by ThriveWell Cancer Foundation is giving us genuine relief. Knowing that I have a way to get to my appointments means we have one less thing to worry about. It allows us to focus more of our energy on my health and treatment instead of the financial and physical strain of arranging transportation.
I am sincerely grateful to ThriveWell Cancer Foundation, its staff, donors, and everyone whose generosity makes this assistance possible. Your assistance is more than simply a ride. It provides reassurance, relief, and the ability to continue receiving the medical care I need. Thank you for supporting me and my family during this difficult chapter of our lives.
