Cancer Warrior Stacy Carter’s cancer was discovered 10 years ago due to her left leg swelling. Cancer was found in her lymph system. This confounded medical professionals when it kept spreading up her lymph system after traditional chemo and radiation was successful in the treated areas. It led to many frustrating medical appointments and years of angst. Incredibly she was able to get into a Phase 1 clinical trial and the treatment was successful! A former teacher and reading specialist at Fort Sam Houston Elementary School, Stacy continued to work throughout her treatment and continues to “never give up hope.” She says she puts her full faith in her doctors and God. Even after she lost her beloved brother, Regan Greer, to colon and liver cancer, her faith and fortitude has pushed her through.
At this time, she’s thriving well with monthly maintenance treatment and is here today because of the research that led to the clinical trial, the excellent care she received from her medical team and the support from her wonderful family and friends. We are so fortunate to have Stacy as our very special guest for ThriveWell’s Virtual Spring Celebration. Watch Stacy and hear her awe-inspiring story on Thursday, April 29 from 6 PM to 7 PM.
